HMY in Carmarthen is well known to many from West Wales and looking forward to meeting many more from East of the Towy. Carmarthen is the gateway to some amazing roads leading to Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion and North through Carmarthenshire to Powys and mid Wales. The hard part is deciding which direction to go whilst you chill soaking in the atmosphere encapsulated by the fresh baking and leather aromas in the café.

HMY opened just as we were all enjoying last year's Wales Round Ribbon. It was opened as an expansion of a 3 year long Project linked to their custom leathers and merchandise for motorbike racing. The owner Hammy has lived and breathed bikes his whole life. Coming from a racing family there was never a choice. Hammy pretended to grow up (he got older anyway) in paddocks, bike dealerships and bike meets.

The heart of the business is still custom painting and fan merchandise for a lot of the British superbike riders and TT riders with HMY sponsoring the likes of Davey Todd, Nathan Harrison and Brad Ray. HMY specialise in painting leather and have painted for Moto GP stars, professionals all over the world and some huge brands such as Monster and Alpinestars.

With the opportunity to take on more property at their current address they knew it would be the perfect spot for a bike themed coffee house to accompany the rest of HMY customs. Since opening last year they have already been identified as one of the best coffee houses in Wales. HMY bake all pastries on site fresh every morning and boast a big range of local sweat treats to give that sugar boost and hit that sweet spot during a ride. Their freshly made thick shakes are a big favourite and adding a shot of coffee takes it to a new height.

They love all things two wheels and when you visit you will see subtle hints of their bike history with gifts from racers and crashed boots each with a tale to tell. Not only are they bike friendly they are also dog friendly. It’s one of the newer bike stops in Wales but they’ve taken no time in creating something different for riders, cyclists and dog lovers. Renowned for their daily fresh bakes and extremely high standard barista coffee HMY has become recognised as a top indy coffee and cake house.

Their bikes meets are a little different with live music, race bikes on display and professional British superbike riders hanging out, drinking coffee and chatting to fans.

Truth is though Hammy likes top coffee, sumptuous cakes and bikes so he's thrown it all in to one place he happens to work next door to all week 🤔🤔😂🤣
