About Dave's Defib

Below is an extract from the Team at Dave's Defib, on the history of their group and what lead to them being created.

It's been 1 year since David Jones from Mid Wales suffered a heart attack at The Owls Nest, Llandovery and set in motion a series of events that would change all of our lives dramatically.

After Dave experienced symptoms of a heart attack that day, we quickly realised that there was no Defibrillator available close by, and the ambulance wait was up to a shocking 8 hours. After 4 repeat calls to 999, we decide to take matters into our own hands and transported Dave to hospital ourselves. 

The hospital confirmed a heart attack and Dave had a stent fitted. He was in good spirits, returning home on the Friday until he suddenly passed away exactly 1 week later from another massive heart attack in his sleep.

What started as an idea discussed with Dave days earlier at that point, became a fully fledged fundraiser to raise funds for a Defib to be installed at The Owls Nest. In a matter of only 4 hours, the biker community came together and raised the money we needed ❤️
